Potential Energy

Ephesians 3:20 The Message (MSG)
20 God can do anything, you know—far more than you could ever imagine or guess or request in your wildest dreams! He does it not by pushing us around but by working within us, his Spirit deeply and gently within us.

Ephesians 2:10 Contemporary English Version (CEV)
10 God planned for us to do good things and to live as he has always wanted us to live. That’s why he sent Christ to make us what we are.

Psalm 139:13-16 The Message (MSG)
13-16
Oh yes, you shaped me first inside, then out;
    you formed me in my mother’s womb.
I thank you, High God—you’re breathtaking!
    Body and soul, I am marvelously made!
    I worship in adoration—what a creation!
You know me inside and out,
    you know every bone in my body;
You know exactly how I was made, bit by bit,
    how I was sculpted from nothing into something.
Like an open book, you watched me grow from conception to birth; all the stages of my life were spread out before you,
The days of my life all prepared before I’d even lived one day.

I have recently started to reread Nehemiah.  Nehemiah was a man living in the life of luxury, but felt a tug to go out and rebuild Jerusalem’s walls.  He felt the potential building up inside of him until he took a leap of faith and took action.  He was asked and judged on what he was doing, but he knew that “The God of heaven will make it go well…” (Nehemiah 2:20)

Potential Energy…from the tiny seeds in the packets at the store to the baby being formed in the mother’s womb to Nehemiah.  Here is a paragraph taken from my most recent read (noted below):

“Our lives are like seeds.  We were born with the POTENTIAL for fulfillment of our destinies that have already been established within us.  When God gives a vision to someone, He’s simply calling forth what He put into that person.  This is why you can always determine what you can do by the dream that is within you.  Plant the seed of your vision by beginning to act on it and then nurture it by faith.  Your vision will develop until it is fully grown and bears much fruit in the world.”

Just like Nehemiah, we need to stop, pray, and then take action as God places the next step in front of us.  Put your potential energy into action so that it becomes the energy that God intended it to be.
